Job Description: OSPR is the lead state agency for oil spill response in California. The OSPR GIS team provides a wide array of technical support for the prevention, preparedness, and response to oil spills. During emergency response, the GIS team provides incident specific data deliverables (maps, figures, spatial analysis, database queries, etc.), employs field data collection and remote sensing tools and processes the resultant data. During non-spill times, the OSPR GIS team develops custom field data collection applications and supports technical studies associated with all facets of spill prevention and response. The RD II Supervisor leads this dynamic group supporting the GIS staff through their professional development and goals, manages the workload of the group, and ensures that OSPR continually employs the best available technology for spatial analysis, remote sensing, and mapping.
